Authorized Use of Client's Computer

Digital Cirisis Inc. employees are authorized to use computer systems and accessories belonging to clients to the point that such use contributes to the service approved by the client or is necessary to properly diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, or test a system or other electronic devices that stores private or sensitive data files, or aids in preventative maintenance to the computer system. Digital Crisis is no responsible for hardware failure on any hardware that was not purchased from Digital Crisis Inc. even if it fails in our possession, and Digital Crisis is not responsible for any data files that might of been stored on any hardware.


Digital Crisis's Policy on Client's Data Privacy

By checking in a computer system or peripherals for service with Digital Crisis Inc., the client gives implied consent and unlimited access to all data stored on the system.

Our technicians and computer specialists are required to treat every clients' personal data files and information stored on computer discs, memory cards, or hard drives as confidential and are prohibited from viewing, coping, discussing, or distributing such data files except as required by federal and state laws.

Digital Crisis makes every effort to ensure against data loss, but data backup is the responsibility of the client and Digital Crisis is not responsible if data loss occurs.

Hints for Protecting Private Data Files

If you are worried about sensitive data on your computer, then here are some simple steps to protect your data.

  1. Always keep a backup copy of your sensitive data. All hardware will fail at some point, so backup your data to a secure location such as another computer, external hard drive, or online backup service.
  2. In some cases it may be appropriate to schedule an onsite appointment, so that you work one on one with a technician and monitor the repair in realtime.
  3. Also if possible, you can move any confidential data off of the machine that needs service onto another machine or external hard drive.
  4. If you have highly sensitive or private data on your computer, then please notify the technician servicing your machine of any special request on how to handle the data.
  5. At Digital Crisis we have never lost anyones data. If your computer is ever at risk of data loss, then our computer specialists will immediately make a cloned image of your hard drive and store it on our secure file servers.
